Anton Perich

Born in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Lives and works in New York.

Anton Perich was born in Dubrovnik, Croatia and moved to New York via late 1960s Paris. He is considered an early pioneer of electronic art, cable TV, and underground publishing. His 1977-78 painting machine with which he still paints is a predecessor to the modern ink jet printer/scanner. In Paris, Perich was active for several years with the Lettrist Group, as a painter, poet and filmmaker. He moved to New York in the early 70s and became a contributing photographer for Andy Warhol’s INTERVIEW Magazine. In the last 70s he began publishing NIGHT Magazine, featuring painting, photography, poetry, fiction, essays, interviews, and more.

Perich’s photographs, paintings and videos are shown and published worldwide. A selection of his photographs is now in the collection of the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, the Warhol Foundation, and the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation in New York.
