Microscope is very pleased to welcome musician Dalius Naujo back to Microscope for the debut of Reflux, his open media collaboration with artist Aidas Bareikis. The performance includes live visual and sound, involving masks, metal objects constructed by Bareikis, and an industrial fan. Naujo, who regularly transforms everyday objects into “instruments”, will be featured primarily on drums and other percussion instruments.
Naujo previously performed in a solo show at Microscope in July of 2011, for a one-time special “broken wrists performance” while still recovery from an accident which left both wrists severely injured. Documentation from that performance is here (http://jonasmekas.com/diary/?p=1265).

Dalius Naujo is a Lithuanian born New York based musician. His start of his career is associated with the 9th decade of Vilnius jazz and avant–garde music. In 1995 Dalius invaded the New York music scene, with a series of original solo performances at Anthology Film Archives. There, he along with other artists, founded the band “Free Music on Second Street”, participated in “Now We Are Here Orchestra” projects with Jonas Mekas, and collaborated with other avant-garde filmmakers and musicians. Naujo also has played and recorded with a variety of New York bands such as Kenny Wollesen’s Himalayas and Wollesonics, Art Baron, Butch Morris, Joey Barron, Brazilian Girls and Otomo Yoshihide.
Aidas Bareikis was born in Vilnius, Lithuania and has lived and worked in New York City for many years. Known for installations and drawings, Bareikis’ work has been included in museums shows including “Generation Z”, and “Greater New York” at PS1/MOMA and “Crossing the Line” at the Queens Museum. His work has also exhibited at the Athens Biennial, Athens; Contemporary Art Center, Berlin; Leo Keonig, Inc. New York; Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna; Zacheta Center for Contemporary Art, Warsaw Poland; Asbaek Gallery, Copenhagen; Miller Durazo gallery, Los Angeles; and Contemporary Art Center in Vilnius, Lithuania. He graduated from Vilnius Art Academy in 1993 and received an MFA from Hunter College in 1997.
