Microscope Gallery presents a night of sound performances by Kamron Saniee, Richard Kamerman, and Richard Garet, three artists working with the exploration of sound associated with ontological discoveries, active listening, material, process, and space.
Saniee’s work is algorithmically made and concerns sound and its spacial possibilities as well as the listening conditions. Kamerman is interested in the predictability of sound emerging from breaking and crashing computers, damaged electronics, and the aesthetics of error, accidents and failure. Garet’s approach to working with live sound focuses on the direct experience of listening and the physicality of body and space, articulating sonic material such as electromagnetic waves, treated tape and audio cassettes, cracked media, information noise and computer processing.
Saniee, Kamerman, and Garet will be available for Q&A following the performances.

Kaman Saniee graduated summa cum laude in mathematics from Princeton University in 2013, having previously trained as a classical violinist. He has presented his electronic compositions in DIY spaces and the radio, and spatial multichannel sound works in galleries in New York and Berlin, almost exclusively via live performance. He began producing spatial sound works with the CT::SWaM experimental concert series, whose organization he joined end of last year. This fall he will attend RBMA 2016 in Montréal as one of 8 US producers selected internationally for the yearly academy. Works as a data scientist and researcher in NYC.
Richard Kamerman (b. NYC, 1985) has been breaking electronics and crashing computers while trying to coax interesting and unpredictable sounds out of them for over a decade. Keywords: amplification, magnification, obfuscation, systems design, game theory, patterns, human error, accident, failure. Recordings of his solo or collaborative works have been released by Erstwhile Records, Pilgrim Talk, Contour Editions, RRRecords, and Engraved Glass, among others. Kamerman has performed or had his music performed throughout the US as well as internationally in Canada, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Chile. He also runs the small-press music label, Copy For Your Records.
Richard Garet holds an Master of Fine Arts from Bard College, NY.
