The Highwaymen takes place on the full moon of each month and is held at a variety of independent, non-profit, art and performance spaces and clubs throughout Brooklyn. The goal of The Highwaymen NYC is to strengthen a community of emerging, active &amp; relevant poets in Brooklyn and create a meeting place where these poets can showcase and discuss their work.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n__<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Elizabeth Clark Wessel is an editor at Argos Books and Circumference: Poetry in Translation, and author of the chapbook Whither Weather (GreenTower Press, 2012). Her poems and translations have appeared in DIAGRAM, A Public Space, Guernica, Poor Claudia, Sixth Finch, Lana Turner Journal, and elsewhere. She lives in Brooklyn, NY and works as a translator.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Marina Blitshteyn is the author of Russian for Lovers (Argos Books, 2011). Her work is featured or forthcoming in 1913, Iartistas, Handsome, Two Serious Ladies, and elsewhere. She is a contributing editor at Apogee Journal and just guest-edited the current issue of <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">No, Dear. <\/span><br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jay Deshpande\u2019s poetry has recently appeared in Phantom Limb, Bodega, Narrative, Sixth Finch, Atlas Review, Boxcar Poetry Review, and elsewhere. In 2012 he was a winner in Narrative\u2019s Fourth Annual Poetry Contest, and his poem &#8220;On the Meaning of Love&#8221; was named one of Narrative&#8217;s Poem of the Week top picks for 2013. He is a former poetry editor of AGNI. He lives in Brooklyn and works in magazine publishing.
